Are you chicken curious? Or do you already have have chickens but want to improve the look and functionality of your chicken coop? This free tour of backyard coops will give you pointers for building a coop, keeping hens healthy and safe, and mitigating noise and pests. Each coop is special: one has a water feature, another is built out of found materials, another is the Oasis Coop, built by the Laney Community College woodworking class. This FREE tour meets at the Oasis at 10:30am. Maps with coop descriptions and addresses are given out, and then you go check out which coops you want to visit–it is purely self-guided. There are a few stops near the Oasis but many more further afield.
After the tour, around 4pm those who can will meet back at the Oasis where Coop Tour hosts can meet each other, and Tour de Coop participants who might have additional questions.
